Edinburgh School of Food & Wine
Based in the beautiful grounds of a charming 18th century manor house the Edinburgh School of Food & Wine (ESFW) has been a flourishing success ever since its establishment in Edinburgh in 1987. The team at ESFW take great pride in being friendly and knowledgeable whilst at the same time being able to use their experience and knowhow to help develop client’s appreciation for the finer side of food and wine.
As a forward thinking, ethically responsible organisation, the relationship between ESFW and Changeworks Recycling was always going to be a strong, mutually beneficial one. ESFW believes that businesses should respect the environment around them and operate in a sustainable way; these are values also held by Changeworks Recycling. By working with Changeworks Recycling, the school has been able to achieve zero waste to landfill for all the waste streams it generates.
“It’s always been our ethos to minimise waste, we’ve been working with Changeworks Recycling for a number of years and they have helped us achieve our goal of sending zero waste to landfill. Using Changeworks Recycling means that we don’t have to co-ordinate deliveries to local recycling plants, saving staff time and hassle. Separating our waste for recycling has become second nature to all our staff. Given our strong environmental credentials our next focus will be energy use. We are always looking at ways that we can use our energy more effectively, how we can generate energy from more sustainable resources and how to move to more sustainable forms of lighting within the school”.
