In the build-up to the Scottish Government’s Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 coming into force we talked to most of our customers, to whom we offer recycling services in Edinburgh, Glasgow and across Central Scotland and also to many prospective clients about the impact it was likely to have on them.
A number of common questions emerged from these conversations and they were the same, whether the business was public, voluntary or corporate -
- What does source segregation of my waste streams actually mean?
- What does the definition in the Waste Regulations "high quality recycling" actually mean?
- How do I get my staff on board, and how can I train them?
- How can I find out what I need to do to become compliant?
The Regulations were passed in Parliament on 16th May 2012 and will be enforceable after the end of 2013, which in business terms is not really that far away.
Our priority is to demystify the Zero Waste process for our clients and make their journey to compliance quick and easy.
